Yesterday I left you in the old city of Ephesus with the apostle John as he is writing the first of his three little letters found toward the end of our New Testament. He had just written one of the most powerful statements imaginable: "...if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."
