Yesterday we stepped way back in time to begin a new season of "Walking with Jesus". For the next few weeks, we'll walk the miraculous story of Joshua and the Israelites as they enter the land of God's promise. Yesterday we stood with Joshua as he heard God give him one of the greatest promises of all time even though Moses was dead, and it would have been easy for the people to have lost hope. We saw God challenged Joshua to 'get ready' for action. What action? Moving one million people forward to cross a flooded Jordan river. And more, God told Joshua to help the people, 'get ready' with a great sense of expectation, for soon they would be taking possession of the land God promised 5 centuries before to Abraham and his descendants.
