This day is most famous, of course, because it was Thursday evening of this Passover week that Jesus gathered with His disciples in the ‘upper room’ of a home in Jerusalem to celebrate their Passover meal together. As with the other significant events during this historic weekend, all four Gospel writers give us a Holy Spirit led perspective of that evening. Matthew’s account is found in Matt. 16:17-35; Mark’s is found in Mark 14:12-31. Luke’s account is found in Luke 22:7-38 and finally John’s lengthy account is found in 5 chapters in John’s Gospel, chapters 13,14,15,16,17.
