Today I begin with a question for all of us: Which of all God’s promises is the ONE you most cherish? For the past few days we’ve been in Jerusalem, eyewitnesses to the remarkable dedication of the great Temple built by King Solomon. Jerusalem was filled to overflowing with thousands of people who had come to witness this once in a lifetime experience. At the conclusion of Solomon’s prayer of dedication yesterday we witnessed God sending a fireball from heaven to burn up the sacrifices on the altar and the cloud of God’s purifying presence filled the Temple with ‘the glory of the LORD.’ (2 Chronicles 7:1-3) What an amazing experience it was for all who were privileged to be in Jerusalem as eyewitnesses!
